Professional Organizing Experience - 1988 to 1999
1998 Office Manager for the United Democratic Headquarters of the Pomona Valley. Responsible for overall coordination of campaign activities. Responsible for all general fundraising activities. Supervised staff and volunteers. Conducted field operations, voter registration, phone banking and Get Out The Vote activity. Maintained liaison with other campaigns (three Assembly, one State Senate and two Congressional races), and oversaw joint activities with statewide races. Responsible for database maintenance. Responsible for structure and set up of the headquarters as well as dismantling and closure. For the first time the 61st Assembly District became Democratic, the open State Senate seat remained Democratic, and all Democratic candidates received a majority vote in our target cities.
1997-1998 Regional Coordinator for the "Plug In, California" campaign of the California Public Utilities Commission. One of ten Regional Coordinators statewide working for Rogers and Associates (Century City) under contract to the California Public Utility Commission. Responsible for the San Gabriel Valley, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties area of this educational campaign. Monitored contract compliance of ten Southern California community based organizations and provided outreach training. Arranged and conducted over 60 public speaking engagements. Arranged, set up and staffed booths and tables to distribute educational materials at Fairs, Rodeos, Festivals and other community events. Coordinated regional public relations projects.
1997 Field Organizer for the "Yes on 2, Save Pasadena's Library" campaign. Organized and directed targeted Vote By Mail, supervised database input and Get Out The Vote volunteer activity. This non-partisan campaign received an 87% Yes vote to continue Pasadena's Library tax. That was the strongest pro-tax vote in California in 1997.
1996 Campaign Coordinator for the United Pasadena Democratic Headquarters. Responsible for overall coordination of campaign activities. Organized all special events. Supervised a paid staff of four (fundraiser, field organizer and two recruiter/supervisors of over a 1,000 volunteers). Oversaw execution of campaign plan. Monitored spending and cash flow with Treasurer/Budget chair. Prepared and submitted weekly reports to Steering Committee. Provided training, assistance and mentoring to paid and volunteer staff. Conducted planning for headquarter events, fundraising, field operations, voter registration, phone banking, media relations, database maintenance and Get Out The Vote activity. Prioritized workloads for staff and volunteers. Maintained liaison with other campaigns (Assembly, State Senate and Congressional), and Victory '96. Responsible for structure and set up of headquarters as well as dismantling and closure. For the first time in 108 years the Assembly seat went Democratic, as did the State Senate District.
1995 Field Organizer and Office Manager for the Brent Decker for Assembly (59th A.D.) Special general election campaign. Ran/Staffed headquarters, handled all field organizing and GOTV activity, database entry. Conducted all fundraising activity.
1994 Field Organizer for the California Coordinated Campaign (San Bernardino and Pomona Headquarters). Responsible for Sign Project, Voter Registration, VBM Project, Precinct Leaders, volunteer supervision and special events.
1992 Campaign Manager for the Kevin Dockery for Congress Primary Campaign. Volunteer recruitment, Voter Registration, GOTV and database management.
1988 Field Organizer for the Sandy Hester for State Senate Campaign. Ran all field activity. Oversaw door to door distribution of over 250,000 pieces of campaign material. Ran all GOTV.

Winning Team '92, Field Organizer: In charge of field organizing, precinct walking, GOTV activity for the Sandy Hester for State Senate, Louise Gelber for Assembly and Al Wachtel for Congress campaigns. Coordinated activity between the three local campaigns, two U.S. Senate and Presidential campaigns and set up precinct activity for all Democratic Campaigns in our area. Oversaw door-to-door distribution of campaign material to 40,000+ households.

Coordinated A.D. Voter Registration Drive, '92: Co-Chair with Tim Wendler: Registered voters throughout the 62nd and 59th A.D.'s. Ran high visibility tables at major shopping centers throughout the district. Supervised weekend shopping center and door to door voter registration drives. Registered over 2,000 Democrats locally.
Coordinator for the Health Security Act, Proposition 186 Campaign in the Pomona Valley, '94: Set up events, recruited volunteers, created and distributed campaign materials.
